Aqua Apprentice wins Regional Award

At Aqua we look to recruit young people who are passionate about the industry we work in. In return we dedicate a structured training programme to help them on their way.

Carl Briggs one of Aqua’s plumber’s commenced his apprenticeship with Aqua in 2003 as a young school leaver.  He progressed through his apprenticeship studying at Cambridge Regional College and completing his training in May 2007.

In October Carl was awarded the ‘Senior Apprentice of the Year Award’ at the SummitSkills Eastern Counties Training Awards 2007.

The awards, held at the prestigious British Horse Racing School in Newmarket, recognise and nurture talented trainees within the heating, plumbing, refrigeration and air conditioning industries.  Prior to the awards Carl and Andrew Digby (Contracts Director) were invited to London to receive a tour of the Houses of Parliament and meet the Rt Hon John Denham MP, Secretary of State for Innovation, Universities and Skills.

Ivor Rowley of SummitSkills commented: “the success and level of excellence demonstrated by the winners underlines the impressive attitude that is within our sector. The trainees have all shown a commitment and determination to be key contributors to the sector”.

In addition to this, Carl was also chosen to receive the Smartlife Gold Certification for Heating and Ventilation in recognition of his achievements at Cambridge Regional College.
