The agreement concerns service & maintenance support by Radio Holland to Smit operations worldwide for an indefinite period. The contract includes 40 ships to start with, which are based in Rotterdam, but also Nigeria, Gabon and New Guinea. Consecutively, Radio Holland USA followed by booking Full Maintenance agreements with Teekay Corporation and Radio Holland Hong Kong tied the FMA knot with China Navigation.
These agreements prove that the interest from ship owners for managed maintenance agreements with Radio Holland is growing. Radio Holland aims to conclude a mutually beneficial co-operation with global ship operators, so that they can operate their vessels and fleet as effectively as possible.

Radio Holland, already a well known partner for Smit, was selected because of its strategic plan, including performance indicators which shows that Radio Holland aims for perfect service performance and which aims at a win-win strategy for both Smit and Radio Holland. The global network was another important reason for Smit to choose Radio Holland.
Teekay Corporation
Radio Holland USA recently signed Full Maintenance Agreements with Teekay for 14 of their vessels being operated out of the Teekay Houston office. A milestone for Radio Holland USA, as it was a heavy battle with competitors. Important reasons were the RH global footprint, the excellent service record, and a commitment to form a relationship with the shipowner, based on his requirements. Founded in 1973, Teekay is a recognized international leader in energy shipping. Its strength lies in the global reach of the organization, the size of the fleet, and the quality of the people and operations. Teekay has grown from a regional shipping company, mainly in the indo-pacific region, into a global provider of marine services to the oil and gas industry. Teekay connects the customers' upstream oil and gas production with their downstream refining and distribution.
China Navigation Co Ltd (CNCo)
In the Far East, Radio Holland Hong Kong signed its first ever Full Maintenance Agreement with CNCo. After numerous meetings with China Navigation, they decided to go with Radio Holland as they believe the value added aspects of the global footprint and service coordination will provide vital cost and coordination savings as well as relevant information (First time right) to assist in their vessel management.
This is the first company within Hong Kong and China that has signed such an agreement with the Radio Holland Group. It gives Radio Holland Hong Kong great pleasure and opportunity to show its global potential. We consider this the start of a close relationship in assisting shipping companies utilizing the Radio Holland own network.
China Navigation owns 18 ships, 17 of which are geared multipurpose types. Its subsidiary companies charter in another 32 multipurpose vessels, making CNCo one of the largest multipurpose liner operators. CNCo is a British company founded in Shanghai in 1872 but based in Hong Kong since 1948. CNCo has extensive liner operations in the Pacific, operating over six liner trades under the banner of "Swire Shipping" and "Tasman Orient". In recent years it has gone global, operating two ‘counter rotational’ round-the-world multipurpose liner trades. RH is proud to be associated with CNCo, a company with a rich history and a wealth of experience.
Management Service Agreements
For a fixed contracted fee, the ship owner outsources the total maintenance & repairs to Radio Holland. We make sure that the equipment under contract is always operational. The ship owner does not have to worry about labor, spare parts and periodical replacing costs. RH will also provide the ship owner with regular management reporting and information about the cost of ownership for his equipment. This enables the owner to efficiently plan and control the continuation and maintenance of equipment. The agreement can also be completely tailormade. The objective is to create a win-win relationship between RH and the ship owner or manager, by minimizing the annual maintenance costs for on-board maritime electronics of the contracted ships. The ship owner is required to provide optimum information before Radio Holland plans to carry out the service call on board, thus allowing RH to perform in the most effective and efficient way.
