The Shires plan includes:
-
A 7000 square metre multiplex cinema and 6000 square metres of cafes and restaurants
-
Two new public squares and 118 apartments
-
A new 2000 space multi-storey car park and a pedestrian bridge linking the extension with the new secure car park
-
A new bus interchange adjacent to the Shires
-
A comprehensive refurbishment of the existing Shires shopping centre
Installation works to the John Lewis/Cinema block are now complete as are works to residential blocks 3A, 3B & 5.
A large amount of effort was expended on the main Mall Management Suite and thanks to this it was successfully handed over on 28th of March.
First fix works to the main shopping centre extension are now complete and efforts are being made to accelerate the second fix works in the level 2 public toilets and the main Mall.
The current focus is on the progress of the car park Ramp and the main roof works with a close watch on external in-ground lighting
The entire project is progressing well and with circa 25 staff on site.
Overall completion of the development is anticipated for the end August 08.
