Technology that improves business
Knowing what the customer wants and what the customer’s customer wants. Today that would appear to be the key to success. In technological services provision as well. Imtech achieves measurable added-value for customers through its thorough understanding of their primary and secondary processes and in-depth knowledge of the market. The customer concentrates on the core business, Imtech takes total responsibility for the technology. We not only ensure the technological solutions work perfectly, we also offer pro-active advice regarding how a better utilisation of technology can lead to higher efficiency, the lowest cost of ownership and a better result. If wished we also take responsibility for the result. In Public Private Partnerships we guarantee the technological performance of buildings throughout the entire exploitation phase. This is how innovation leads to value creation. Technology that improves business.
Examples
Smart energy meters
Liberalisation of the energy market is making it easier for consumers to switch from one energy supplier to another. The direct consequences of liberalisation are the separation of the roles of energy supplier and grid operator and the emergence of 'smart' energy meters. These have an important advantage: consumers are able to use the meters to keep track of their own daily energy consumption via the internet. The objective is to bring about a more conscious consumption of energy. Imtech has already undertaken various pilot projects and contracts for the installation of smart energy meters, for clients including Enexis (Essent). For the Eneco energy company Imtech installed more than 6,500 of these new meters in 2009. Imtech is handling the complete logistical process plus the associated planning and the gathering and dispatch of metering data. Clients simply need to submit a batch of addresses. Imtech does the rest. Technology that improves business.
Flexible construction for Lady Justice
Kriminalvården, the Swedish government authority responsible for prisons and probation, is building a new penitentiary at Sollentuna, north of Stockholm. Linking the building to the new courthouse and police station will create a single law-enforcement complex, thus increasing security and efficiency. With a surface area of 23,600 square metres, the building will house 260 cells and an administrative section. The complex is being constructed in part according to the new principle for industrial, flexibly disassemblable construction: freely configurable, easily expandable and fully disassemblable in a way that allows partial reuse. Imtech (NVS) implemented sustainable air-conditioning and climate technology. Technology that improves business.
DeskCare: one less concern
The core business of a hospital is to treat patients. ICT facilitates that process and helps it run as smoothly as possible. However, developments in the ICT field are moving ahead at a breathtaking pace and for a small ICT department it is almost impossible to keep its own ICT infrastructure up to standard, remain abreast of the latest applications and at the same time use those advances. For that reason the Zuwe Hofpoort Hospital in Woerden in the Netherlands decided to outsource its complete front-office and back-office environment to Imtech. By means of DeskCare the Imtech staff make sure that the hospital's approximately 800 workstations and 100 servers run faultlessly. Technology that improves business.
London fast forward
An optimum flow of traffic is important for a variety of reasons. It reduces aggravation, eases the burden on the urban environment and keeps emissions of harmful particulate matter to a low level. This represents a huge challenge, particularly in a metropolis like London. For Transport for London, the manager of the road network in and around London, Imtech (Peek Traffic) is performing multi-year maintenance, including upgrading of all traffic systems in the eastern part of the capital, where the Olympic area is located. Imtech is further developing a new traffic control system to improve mobility at junctions by means of modern IP technology. This work makes Imtech responsible for more than 40% of all of London's technical traffic solutions. Technology that improves business.
Berlin’s airport of the future
The three airports in the German Capital Region Berlin-Brandenburg are to be combined into Berlin Brandenburg International. A single new, ultramodern airport which will provide a hub of ideal connections, both in the air and over land. As the technological partner in this metamorphosis, Imtech is guaranteeing all the energy solutions, including the sustainable innovative heat reclamation system which will reuse 70% of all the heat generated in the terminal. Imtech will also provide an advanced fire safety system and the entire high and medium voltage power, including all the electrical engineering solutions, so that all travellers can rely on a comfortable and safe passage through the terminal. Technology that improves your business.
New times, new maritime materials
Now that the European armed forces are no longer needed to protect or increase their own territory, the employment profile of the air forces, armies and navies has changed. They now focus on long-term international peace missions and the war against terrorism. The material requirements have therefore changed. The German navy commissioned the construction of four new frigates – type F125. Imtech (Imtech Marine Group) provided the high-tech, energy saving air-conditioning on board, and was responsible for its engineering, implementation and commissioning. The technology applied to these ships is specially designed for long-term and intensive use, complying with the highest requirements, and can be used in the most extreme (climate) conditions. With the innovative Imtech solutions on board, an energy saving of almost 25% is achieved compared to more conventional technology. Technology that improves your business.
Dealing with 400.000 Airplanes a Year
Each year about 400.000 airplanes arrive at and depart from Schiphol Airport, transporting a total of 45 million passengers. Therefore the infrastructure needs to meet strict requirements in order to be available as much as possible. The maintenance and improvement of all runways, taxiways and roads at the airport have been contracted out to a partnership between Dura Vermeer and Imtech. Imtech will concentrate on the technological infrastructure, such as the runway lights, lighting of the other roadways, power supplies and all the technical facilities at the runway stations. This makes that we can fly safely and at the same time Schiphol Airport can deal with these enormous amounts of passengers and freight. Technology that improves your business.
