Gouda, the Netherlands - Imtech N.V. (technical service provider in Europe) has recently won two orders in the market for cleanrooms. At the request of the German construction company Züblin AG, Imtech will handle the building technology and the cleanroom technology in a new pharmaceutical factory to be built for Altana Pharma AG near Cork in Ireland. Imtech has also received an order for a part of the building technology and the cleanroom technology in a new Siltronic AG production site in Freiberg. The total value of both orders is around 17 million euros.

Imtech has its own competence center in Stuttgart for cleanroom technology that serves both the semiconductor industry and, increasingly, the pharmaceutical industry.

On behalf of the German construction company, Züblin, Imtech (Imtech Deutschland) will be responsible for the building technology and complete cleanroom technology in a new pharmaceutical factory to be built for the pharmaceutical company, Altana Pharma AG, in Carrigtwohill Industrial Estate, near Cork in Ireland. In this new factory, which will go into production in mid 2006, the bulk production of Altana’s medicines Pantoprazol® and Roflumilast® will take place. Imtech delivers, among other things, complete air conditioning and climate technology (including the heating and cooling of the complex purified water system), the cleanroom technology, all the electrical solutions and the building management system.

For a new Siltronic production site in Freiberg (Sachsen) Imtech (Imtech Deutschland) will supply part of the building technology and cleanroom technology. In this new factory mass production of specialised 300mm wafers for the semiconductor industry will take place. These wafers are used as semiconductors in the electronics and telecommunications industry, among others. Imtech is responsible for the engineering and installation of 18 chemical systems. The new Siltronics factory is due to go into production in 2004.
